Storynight with Melea is a website created for that moment when you want to relax and savor a story, take a de-stressing break during work hours, or gather the kids up or a special friend for an intimate and quiet moment of simply listening to a story.


Storynight is the name I gave my hometown concert in 1989. After producing my first audio, I was encouraged by my mentor to celebrate this accomplishment with a story concert and dessert time. It was a successful evening. People left refreshed, filled up with brownies and raspberry tarts, and asking, “When’s the next Storynight?” Since 1989, my friend and composer, Perry Moore, and I have told stories centered on many wonderful themes and purposes. Certainly the Christmas holidays have provided a great setting whether the manger or a living room, but we’ve been in an attic, a classroom, at the dining room table, a campground, a kid’s bedroom, a front porch, a broken down barn on a snowy day, a stage filled with beautiful and colorful doors, and the austereness of an empty stage with only a grand piano and a stool.

Although those settings can’t be created on a website and you and I aren’t in a face-to-face story moment, we can still have a Storynight moment together. StorynightwithMelea.com was launched in December of 2009 giving listeners access to a radio show we produced called, “Christmas Wrapped in Story.” It was aired through the nation and into Canada with wonderful feedback from listeners and radio stations. Our thought after its positive reception was this—“Let’s keep doing this! Let’s provide a listening site for those who love listening to a story just like they sit and listen to music online.”
